Artist's Comments

So...let me tell you a story.

Memorial day, I get approached by this woman who works for the Dixie Carter Art Gallery in my neighboring town. She wants me to submit some art pieces. With me so far? Good. She asks me what type of media I dabble in. I answered honestly: digital art and photography. That's truly what I dabble in. Sooo...I get some good photos together, go to Wal-Mart, blow them up and buy frames for them, and suddenly realize...

...
...
...
wait for it...
...
...
...

I HAVE (ALMOST) NO ORIGINAL PIECES IN MY GALLERY. LIKE, AT ALL.

Let me explain. I don't consider my Joey pieces original because they're so deeply seated in my DBZ-fandom. That goes for Talliko and Togedai, and all the other OC's I have. They're all deeply seated in some sort of fandom, RP idea, in any case, not really...gallery-friendly. Not like they're not inappropriate, they just aren't...oh, you know what I mean. You think a bunch of older folks who come to a gallery to see pictures of sunsets and weird photographic angles are going to want to see a guy with a tail fight someone they can't even tell is a guy or a girl? Please.

That being said, allow me to present my original piece for the Dixie Carter Art Gallery. A bunch of lobsters in a hot tub, and yes, I am aware of the massive amounts of irony. That is why I drew it as such. If you look at it closely, you can tell that I chose to portray the types of people you meet in a (public?) hot tub. You got Average Joe lobster there on the far right, just chillin' and enjoying something he doesn't get everyday. In the middle, you got Overweight Businessman lobster who enjoys this on a monthly basis, because you KNOW his fancy hotel room has like, two. And over there on the left, you see a...pimp? No, no, I can do better. Let's just say a hot lobster chick brings her man down to the tub to chill. There. Done.

Alright, that's enough monologue for now. I'm tired, I finished this piece, and I've thrown down my thoughts for the masses to possibly siege over. Wait, siege isn't the right word. Oh, whatever. Laters.

Art belongs to :icontheguyss4: and not Toriyama, Kishimoto, or any other mangaka. Pretty sure none of them's ever thought of lobsters in a hot tub. Boo-yacka.
